This vintage broach epitomizes beauty and refinement; the hand-wrought silver work is itself amazing to behold, and the center citrine is a lovely golden honey hue. The silver has developed a beautiful, age-appropriate patina that we will not remove unless we are requested to.
Although we don't know the origin of this piece, we suspect that it is European, perhaps from the early 20th century, or even earlier. We say that because 800 silver was not employed in the United States until much later on its history, whereas countries like Germany and France were using 800 silver since the Industrial Revolution.
It appears that this piece may have originally served as both a pendant and a brooch, or perhaps just a pendant, because it looks as though a bail was removed from the back.
This brooch is such a treasure!
