This exceedingly rare vase by Louis Damon, French decorator, stands 8 1/2 inches tall. The front is decorated with wheel carved flower and fruit, and the reverse is carved with leaves and fronds. There is a shallow horizontal 4 mm scratch which extends from one of the stems on the reverse. It can only be seen at a certain angle, and is pictured in one of the photos. It is fully signed on the base with etched signature and the creator's street address in Paris. Damon exhibited at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition where he was awarded a Silver Medal.
