Will Barnet (American, 1911-) is known for his mastery of the print media. During a career that has spanned over six decades, his artistic style has developed into that for which he is well-known today: depictions of serene domesticity expressed with clean lines against a geometric background. During his career, Barnet's lithographs, silk-screens and woodcuts were exhibited throughout the world. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London, in 1978, and in 1982 he was also elected to the American Academy and Institute of Arts. His famous prints and paintings are now included in such collections as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim Museum, New York, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
