FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE DISTRESSED PAINTED SETTEE, Early 20th Century
Item # 1408DPW10P
This is a very charming settee in the Louis XVI taste, well carved and finished in two tones of pale green with ocean blue highlights. The crest is a complex tied bow carving flowing into the twisted-rope molding of the frame. Covered with an attractive and relatively recent floral covering, the settee remains in absolutely fantastic condition (light pen mark to front left corner of seat). The piece rests over crisply fluted tapering legs over plain French toes. A wonderful and very functional piece for any interior designer or anyone decorating in the French taste. It's classic and timeless form compliments modern decor and French Country with equal grace.
Measurements: 22" D x 49 1/4" W x 38 1/8" H; approximately 18-19" H to seat
Condition Report: Upholstery in excellent condition other than the dash of a pen along the left edge of the seat. Distressed painted surface with significant wear and chipping, the result being very charming and attractive. Sturdy and strong in all joints.
