1950s Denmark Studio Stoneware Vase by Gerd Bogelund for Royal Copenhagen

Mid-century glazed stoneware vase signed by Gerd Bogelund (b. 1923) and made at Royal Copenhagen. The vase stands 5.5" tall and has an incised leaf pattern under a mottled tan and brown matte glaze. Signed with the factory marks and artist's monogram. Mint condition. Gerd Bogelund joined Royal Copenhagen while still attending Copenhagen's Craftsman School, and remained until 1942. In 1943, she joined Saxbo pottery for 2 years, working closely with Nathalie Krebs, who strongly influenced her. She rejoined Copenhagen in 1946, where she was artist-in-residence. Her work is included permanent collections in Denmark, Germany & Italy as well as the collection of King Gustavus VI of Sweden.
