We are pleased to offer for sale a stunning example of Early American Pattern Glass.
Remarkable piece. A true gem.
This listing is for a fruit bowl.
Dates circa 1850-1870.
It was made by the Boston Sandwich Glass Co. of Massachusetts.
For reference refer to "A Guide to Sandwich Glass - Pressed Tableware" by Barlow and Kaiser.
Pattern is called Pressed Loop Leaf with a Gauffered Rim.
THAT TYPE OF RIM IS RARE TO FIND. See photo were I marked it in red.
This flint dish has the ring you would expect.
As with all antique glass, you will see signs of use. Bowl is in excellent condition especially something 170+ years old. It does have a pin prick here and there. You can see wear on the base where it sat on the shelf. Glass is clear.
3" tall x 9" wide.
This is a beautiful work of art.
You are looking at an antique that was used. Please examine the photos very carefully to add to my description. Ask all needed questions before purchasing.
