French Porcelain VEILLEUSE Hand Painted Teapot C.1860 ANIMAL SPOUT

This listing is for an outstanding Porcelain Veilleuse. It was made in France. They are sometimes referred to as a warming teapot. It is hand painted. It comes with three pieces - the tower stand, the teapot and the lid. As an added feature, for free, I am including the tray that held the candle. This tray is usually lost or broken down through time. This set comes with the tray. It is being included for FREE because it has a hairline in it. Hairline is tight.

A Veilleuse was designed as a tea warmer and a night light at the same time. A small candle would be placed in the little tray.

This work of art is hand painted. The floral painting is stunning. The stand, teapot and lid are in excellent condition. There is some very very minor spider lines from age. There are no chips, cracks, staining or repairs. There is some gold wear from extreme age.

A RARE feature about this gem is the spout. It is an animal or bird. I cannot identify which one it is.

It dates c 1860.

This will make a wonderful addition to anyone's Veilleuse collection. Any white in the photos is from my camera flash. Remember this is very old item that was used. Please examine the photos very carefully to add to my description. Ask all needed questions before purchase.

It measures 10 1/2" tall to the top of the teapot handle.

This is a gem.
