The enamel Matisse line of jewelry started as a branch of Renoir of California in 1952. This pin is a wonderful example of their shimmering enamel work. The base of the pin is copper and the enamel sets atop the copper. The brooch, called "Windsong," is in excellent condition. It looks as if it was hardly worn. This particular piece can be seen in the book, "Copper Art Jewelry," on page 89. The pin mechanism is tight and works great. Enamel is in very good condition. Brooch measures 3 x 1 1/2. Very modernistic design. Would look fantastic on a jacket or scarf. Thanks for looking and email with any questions.
