1930s Richelieu Faceted Amethyst & Quartz Necklace

This wonderful 1930s Richelieu Faceted Amethyst & Quartz Necklace w/ 14 Karat White Gold Clasp is a stunning example of jewelry from this period. Richelieu was trademark of Joseph H. Meyer and Bros., a company founded in New York at the turn of the century. They started using this hallmark in 1911. There are Amethyst Necklaces and this one is truly a beauty to behold!

The Amethysts' facets let the purple hues flash as the necklace is worn. The faceted Amethyst beads range in size from 13.5 mm to 6 mm. In between each Amethyst bead is a lovely Quartz bead, Quartz beads also range in size - adding to the richness of the necklace.

The necklace was recently restrung - ensuring the integrity of the necklace and bringing it back to its original beauty. There is some minor surface wear to the beads - but they are not noticeable when the necklace is worn and in no way detract from the beauty that is this necklace.

The necklace measures 30" - allowing it to be worn as one long strand or wrapped around as two strands. Giving it a wonderful versatility. The clasp is stamped Richelieu and 14 Karat. Necklace weighs 61.5 grams.
