1920's Flowered Headpiece

This 1920's vintage headpiece captures the romance of the Gatsby era. It is very versatile and can be worn as a flapper bandeau on the forehead, farther back on the head as a headband, or around the neck as a choker. The piece consists of hand-wired gilded leaves and flowers on a flexible band covered in gilt thread. The flowers and leaves are made of gilt metal disks individually prong set to a backing metal grid. There is gilt twisted wire around the edges to connect to the flexible band and which allows the leaves and flowers to be arranged so as to lay flat or raised, as you wish. It still has its original gold ribbon to tie it around the head or neck. There is a beautiful soft finish to the metal and the lovely patina that is found only on antique metal thread and ribbons.

It would be lovely worn by a bride on its own or with a veil. It is also totally en pointe with today's fashions: I've included a photo from a recent Harper's Bazaar of similar "head jewelry" by Jennifer Behr that sells for $1500.
