Lovely and unusual antique paste watch pin on a hinged stick pin. I believe that this dates to the early-to-mid Victorian era: the stone setting looks like those from the Georgian era, but watch pins were not all that common in the Georgian era so I'm guessing it to be later. If any visitors to the site are experts on dating watch pins, I'd love the feedback.
The hand cut open-back paste stone is in wonderful condition and has incredible sparkle. The stone is set in unmarked, professionally tested, sterling silver. I've kept the dark patina on the silver but it could be easily polished. The stick pin is heavy silver plate over brass.
The paste stone is 3/16" diameter, with the setting it is 5/16" diameter.
