Edwardian Silver and Paste Negligee Necklace

This lovely and elegant necklace is from the teens or early '20's. It is referred to as a "negligee" because of the asymmetrical length of the pendants, as if the maker were negligent or careless (which of course they weren't). Negligees were very popular in the Edwardian era as they looked lovely with the necklines of that era.

This necklace consist of open back collet set round and pear shaped pastes suspended from a rectangular closed back paste. This rectangular stone is molded to look like several baquette stones but is actually a single stone. The entire pendant is suspended from its original curb link chain.

Size: 16" long with the pendant extending an additional 1-1/2".

Markings: "Sterling" "Germany" and a maker's mark that is either "KF", "KP", "ISF", or "ISP" (the letters are stylized and it's hard to tell).

Condition: The foiling on the back of the two open-backed drops has worn off in places. In addition, the rectangular stone's foiling has oxydized to give a slightly yellowish cast, whereas the open-backed stones are a pure white.
