A Scottish Agate Order Of The Garter Brooch Circa 1880

A very nice Scottish sterling silver brooch in the shape of The Royal Order Of The Garter, with a star motif and a cairngorm set in the center. Often called "kilt pins" or "pebble jewelry. The agates are Montrose agate, Bloodstone, Jasper, and Carnelian. The brooch is hand engraved and measures 1 1/2" in diameter. The condition is excellent with only a few minor chips to the stones, and an early reinforcement to the hinge plate on the reverse.
