This exceptional Victorian 18K French bracelet is something of a tour de force of the master goldsmith's art. Fashioned in 18K yellow gold, the bracelet is minutely hand-pierced in an intricate and beautiful design. It features two hidden hinges, not one, and is set with a gorgeous deep green genuine quality emerald and 8 gem diamonds. The emerald weighs approximately .60 carat, the eight European cushion-cut diamonds weigh approximately .42-.45 carat each, for a total carat diamond weight of 3.20 - 3.50 carats, four carats total gemstone weight including the emerald. The color and clarity on the diamonds is in the VS-H-I range, superlative for a piece from this period. The bracelet has French 18K touch marks, the owl in an oval cartouche, a gold standard mark for 18K purity from the 1890s. The bracelet is in excellent condition, but is not a large size, it will be suited for a medium or smallish wrist: the inside dimensions, with the bracelet laid flat on it's side and measured east-west inside left to inside right is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4" measured north-south inside. The inside circumference of the bracelet is about 6." There is an added safety chain, and the clasp is very tight and closes perfectly. The bracelet weighs 30.0 grams.
