An exceptional 14K 1920s large amethyst ring, set in yellow gold with a multicolor pink gold floret and green gold leaves, surrounded with tiny seed pearls strung on a wire, and engraved on the sides of the shank. The gallery below the seed pearls is also nicely pierced. The amethyst is a very good color indeed, a wonderful saturated lavender, like the ring mounting it is also in absolutely impeccable condition, no scratches or chips; it measures 7/8" by 5/8" across, weighing between 15 and 20 carats. I left my millimeter gauge at my office, brilliantly, so this is a guestimation, but if you are interested in a more exact calculation of the carat weight, please email me after March 11 and I will measure it more carefully with a leveridge gauge. The ring size is 6-6 1/4. American, circa 1925. Unmarked, tested for gold content using the nitric acid test method.
