Glorious Antique Haviland & Co. Limoges 1876-1889 Art Nouveau Mucha Style Portrait Plate
This is a wonderful antique art nouveau style Haviland & Co., Limoges portrait plate. The backstamp mark was used from 1876 - 1889 and it was signed by the studio artist, H.G., in 1901. It's approximately 9 1/2" in diameter and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It does show signs of use, wear and light utensil scratches which are most noticeable around the actual portrait portion of the plate. This piece has wonderful, strong color and the dark orange with oak leaves and acorns against the gold center is stunning. A glorious piece that was inspired by the work of Alphonse Maria Mucha and quite a find.
