CROWN TRIFARI Amethyst Coloured Rhinestone Brooch Demi Parure

Many mid-twentieth century costume jewelry designers found inspiration in nature and created lines of jewelry on a botanical theme. This interesting and attractive Crown Trifari brooch parure is certainly one of them. As well, the stone for those born in February is amethyst.

The brooch has stylized branches that are sprinkled with amethyst coloured 'berries' and the earrings emulate this design. Short slash marks add detail to the gold coloured 'branches'. This set is metal plated in a lovely soft gold colour.

The brooch is signed and has the crown over the `T'. It is 2-1/4 inches in length and 1-1/2 inches in width. It is weighty too, which is a sign of good quality jewelry. It is signed in a cartouche, `TRIFARI©' with a crown above the `T'. It has a spring ring clasp and both the clasp and pin are strong and secure.

The earrings measure 1-inch long and ¾ of an inch wide. They are signed `©TRIFARI' on the clips with the crown above the `T'. The amethyst coloured rhinestone `berries' are bezel set and are beautifully faceted. The purple colour is deep and rich.

I see no wear at all on any of the three pieces in this parure. It is in excellent vintage condition.
