1899 Ten Rubles Gold Coin Russia High Grade

A beautiful and scarce gold ten rubles/roubles coin from Russia.

In earlier days, Russia issued gold kopeks, ducats, poltinas, and novodels. In more recent times, most of the gold coins have been roubles or multiples of roubles.

The obverse depicts Czar Nicholas II. The reverse has the imperial coat of arms with the denomination beneath and the year 1899.

The coin is 22 mm in diameter and contains 8.6026 grams of .900 fine gold (.2489 oz AGW).
