Swans Down Cake Flour Pan 1896 First Production

This is the first of the Swans Down Cake Flour Pans produced. This pan was produced in 1896, the pan is not dated as most are, the dates on most are 1923. The reason it is not dated is because as the pan states on the side the pat was applied for, the side also noted the manufacturer as L Katzinger of Chicago. The side handles of this pan are movable and can be raised, raising the handles opens a slot so that a knife could loosen the cake from the pan. This is a heavier and darker pan than most possibly from patina and also from metal used for production. This pan is in very good condition for its age and would be a wonderful display item in a bakery or in a country kitchen.
