An Early Blown Glass Wasp Trap

Showing here a very interesting blown wasp trap, 9 1/4"ht., 6" diam. The end result is achieved by putting a quantity of a sweet tasting liquid in the bottom, the wasp flies in to check out the sweet aroma, cannot fly out thru the top, tires out, falls into the liquid and drowns. This pc. is somewhere in the first half of the nineteenth century, has a definite aqua tint and is undoubtedly the finest example of it's kind that I have ever owned in more than fifty years of business.
