Watercolour by Abraham Burman, well known artist in the 1850's - Stockholm, Sweden. The boy depicted is the artist's son, Conny Burman at the period 1873-80. He was appointed art teacher to the three Swedish Royal Princes - Gstave, Oscar and Carl. The writing verso (in Swedish)............."This little painting is composed and painted by Conny Burman's father, Abraham Burman, A treasured memory for Conny's wife, Mrs. G. Burman." Initials A.B. Overall dimensions of the frame 12 3/4 X 15", OOB painting is 8 X 10". There is some slight loss to the gilding at the corners on the obverse of the frame!
