This very interesting painting of a Kentucky farm scene is by A.J. Swing, it is done on thick paper board and measurer 13 X 19". About the artist: Swing studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and at the Cincinnati Art Academy. He was born in the early 1800's. He taught art in Miami, KY. This painting was a gift to one of his students whose grand-daughter sold it to the Chute gallery. His daughter was Jeanette Swing, a Cincinnati artist. He is listed under her name in Pettey's Dictionary of Women Artists as a Cincinnati artist.
