Very tightly woven Chinese Basket

This would have to represent the epitome of the basket weaver's art. Similar to the tight weave of a Nantucket this pc. doesn't allow much light to filter thru. It exhibits a very fine dark patination and I can only guess that it was used for semi-liquids. Dimensions are 5 3/4" base diam. and 4 1/2" overall ht.
