This well patinated bronze example stands 13" tall as shown in it's present position. The base diam. is 4 3/4" and there is some light corrosion on the nuts securing the Roman Numeral time indicator under the gnomon which indicates time from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The arc is of course adjustable from 10 to 90 degrees. Difficult to date however I purchased this pc. from a very trusted source in London in 1988 and it has remained in my personal collection since that time, said to have come from a very well known professor of science at Sheffield University. Circa 1880-1890
