Salesman's Sample Shoe Circa 1900

Probably this could be described as a rarity, I've been in the business a long time and this is a first for me to find. One might think of it as a match safe or perhaps a pin cushion that has lost its pad but I think not. This is for all intents and purposes, a real shoe. Inside, you can see the curling remains of the liner, when you turn it over, it has a leather soul and very tiny nail heads in the nailed on heel section. It measures 4" long by 2.25" tall and about 1" wide. It looks to be entirely made of leather as apposed to paper mache. Under 10X magnification, the soul is sewed on with extremely tiny stitches! Amazing.
