Fenton's signature piece in its French opalescent hobnail line was the barber's cologne bottle with stopper (Mold 289) made for the Wrisley Company. Lack of maker's mark indicates a pre - 1970 manufacture. The piece was fashioned from a two - part mold.
The barber's bottle is not a rare item, but its original stopper is often missing or unusable. This stopper is not perfect. It has a chipped collar and was missing its cork wrapper. We found a wine bottle cork that works nicely with an easy fit so the bottle can be used if desired. It also allows the stopper to seat properly for a nice appearance. With this little trick you can have a nice Fenton barber's bottle with an original stopper which looks right, can be used, and is affordably collectable. (Sometimes the love of vintage requires a little acceptable ingenuity). My price reflects the adjustments we made. Measures 6" H x 4" W.
