New Martinsville (now Viking Glass) 'Radiance' 6" crystal epergnette provides the perfect crown for the Amston sterling silver 4 - 1 / 2" candle holder 535 base. This lovely duo continues to be one of my personal favorites among the silver - and - glass combinations. It dates from 1936 - 1939 and falls into the 'Elegant Depression' and Art Deco categories. It radiates both beauty and quality.
This piece is not in perfect condition. There is a tiny scuff on the glass. The weighted base has been dropped sometime in the past and an effort was made to straighten it out. (It could be improved upon rather easily). But the item itself is a winner. It has been cleaned and awaits the appreciative next owner. I have reduced the price significantly so its beauty is more affordable for you. If undamaged, this epergnette would be priced by replacement sites at around $90.
The New Martinsville 'Radiance' glass bobeche measures 6" W x 2" H and screws off for easy cleaning. The Amston Sterling reinforced silver threaded candle base 535 measures 3 - 1 / 2" W x 2 - 1 / 2" H and can also be used separately as a low candle holder.
This table accessory is a lovely and flexible addition to your decor. If you wish, you can even let that guy in your life tinker in his shop a little to spruce up the base.
