I am pleased to offer this lovely Cambridge Crown Tuscan #SS10 Nude Stem Sea Shell comport, c 1949-1950s. The stem of the compote is shaped as a standing nude holding a seashell.
It measures 5.5" high and the shell is 5.25" wide. Cambridge made 2 sizes of this compote, and this is the smaller and much harder to find version.
It has the hand-painted Charleton Gardenia decoration which is also harder to find than the Roses & Bow decoration. A 7" version of this compote with the Gardenia decoration can be found on page 90 of "The Charleton Line: AWCO's Decorations..." by Michael and Lori Palmer.
There is notable wear to the paint as can be seen in the photos. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs.
