An unmarked French 8-day carriage alarm clock circa 1890's. It has a beautiful hand-painted porcelain face framed by a gilded surround and beveled glass panels. It is in working order and has been restored. I have tried to adjust it so that it keeps accurate time. As the main spring unwinds it slows down, so I can't tell you that it keeps accurate time. It is a beautiful clock and it is hard to find one with such a nice face. It will be shipped to you double boxed and I cannot guarantee that it will arrive in working order (the escapement is delicate). Do not over wind it when you receive it and to get it started gently rock it back and forth in the direction of the escapement. To keep it in working order, I recommend keeping it running. Keep in mind you are purchasing an antique mechanical clock. It comes with a double-ended clock key.
