Gouache Rendering of an Art Deco Cinema Lobby C. 1920's
This wonderful Art Deco gouache rendering is part of two proposals for a cinema lobby color scheme. It is done in silver and black and is signed by the artist, Dworkin on the lower right-hand side. It is framed in a 1970's worn, but nice, silver aluminum gallery frame. Image size: 17 3/8" by 7.5". Frame size: 24.25" by 15.25". I bought these paintings in Los Angeles in the mid-1970's and believe them to be decorating schemes for one of the big movie palaces there. I tried to research the artist's history and found a registered watercolor artist of that name in Northern California. I don't know if he was the same person.
