This estate piece features a round diamond bessel set in the middle. The diamond is mine cut and the color is clear and sparkling. There are 2 square sapphires on either side of the center diamond, also bessel set. Each sapphire measures approximately 3mm in size. I cannot determine the size of the diamond without removing it, but I believe it is approximately 10-15 points, less than 1/4 carat.
There are 26 rectangular shaped bars of 18kt yellow gold that make up the bracelet. There is a stamp for 18kt gold on the hook where it latches. Each bar measures approximately a little over 1/4 inch long by approximately under 1/4 inch wide. There is a pretty diamond shape cut-out design on each bar.
The length is about 7 inches long and the safety chain is another 3 inches long. The clasp is marked 18kt on both sides with some other letters which I cannot make out. The bracelet has been professionally tested and is positive for 18kt gold. There appears to be a revision of the clasp and closing mechanism and a repair was done in the past. The overall condition is very good and the clasp is in excellent working condition.
This bracelet comes with appraisal paperwork which was from the time of purchase during the 1990's. It comes from an antique estate jewelry shop from Skipback, PA. and was sold as an early 20th century estate bracelet. The total gram weight is 7.6 grams of gold.
I have had this bracelet tested at 2 professional jewelry shops for 18kt gold and it has positively tested for that metal. The prong areas where the stones are set are a white metal that could be sterling or platinum but I did not test these areas. It was quite common to use another metal to set the stones for stronger support.
