Vintage Banded Agate Brooch

This impressive banded agate brooch is probably Scottish. I purchased the piece in England and this was the opinion of the seller. The colors of the bands are distinctive and the setting is a goldtone rope which is probably brass. Note that the clasp is a vintage "C" clasp which is an earlier type of closure.There is a small "bail" that was probably added at a later date to allow wearing a chain.Please see photos.The length is 2 inches and the width is 11/2 inches. The condition is excellent and would make for a handsome addition to a collection.
