These small jars were made to export ginger, sweetmeats, and other delicacies to the west from the Orient. As you view the photos, you will see crude paintings depicting houses, mountains, a lake with fish, and trees. This jar is 3 1/2 inches in height and has no marks. It would have had a lid of some sort for the jar to be shipped. The glaze is smooth and shiny. My research has told me that these pieces date to the mid 19th century. I purchased this piece at an antiques fair in England many years ago.
