Here is a pair of tiny plates, 3 1/4 inches in diameter, that were placed at each dinner place to hold one's serving of butter. Thus the name "butter pats".This practice diminished in popularity after WW1. Now they are highly collectible and the variety is seemingly endless. They are popular small collectibles. This pair has a very pretty floral design with a thin gold border. The color seems to be a little more vivid on one but they are both in very good condition. Both are marked "Germany".
