Somewhere in its life this little sugar bowl met with an unhappy accident, but it is being offered here in hopes of finding it a sympathetic home. Worthy of restoration, or simply for everyday use, it is, despite the damage, a very pretty thing. The lovely rich blue characteristic of Spode Jasperware sets off the highly detailed foxhunting scene to perfection. Impressed mark dates this piece to 1942.
Dimensions: 4" height including cover finial, 4" diameter of body, 6" wide including handles.
Marks: Printed "COPELAND SPODE ENGLAND" trademark, impressed "42", "COPELAND", and "SPODE". (see photos)
Condition: As is. One handle has been broken and reattached with glue. There is a small chip on the interior flange of the cover, not visible when the cover is in place. The interior of the bowl is glazed, clean, and free of defects. (see photos)
