Chinese Export Cream Jug

Very sweet little cream jug in the famille-rose palette, the baluster shape and sparrow's beak spout characteristic of late 18th century Chinese Export porcelain. The diminutive size (3") gives this example great charm. Almost certainly it would have originally had a cover, which is missing. Otherwise it is in fine condition, the polychrome florals and hatched border rendered in bright rose pink, violet, green, blue, and iron red, with some faint traces of gilding visible at the rim.

Dimensions: 3" height, 2" diameter body, 2.5" total width including handle.

Marks: none.

Condition: wear to gilt rim, some minor losses to enameled decoration. No chips, cracks, flakes, or repairs.
