Vintage Revivals Evening Purse
Offering a very interesting purse designed by Revivals in the 1980's. This company united antique frames with new purse bodies designed to complement the frame. This purse highlights a 1910 goldtone frame with four carnelian bars separated by areas with marcasites. The marcasites continue down the sides of the frame. The clasp has a carnelian bar on the front and it is pushed back to open. The carnelian is gorgeous. The newly designed (1980) body is constructed with a unique organza fabric which shimmers and glistens. Its color is antique gold and there is a brownish tint to it. It is tightly ruched on top which leads into larger pleats on the body. The organza is loosely woven and at spots appears to be slightly unraveling. This does not distract from the appearance of the bag. There is a small oval carnelian hang tag and it is lined with an antique gold fabric. The revivals logo is inside along with an open pocket. Lastly, there is a long, double woven strap (32"long total) along with 2 decorative balls covered with netting. Revivals purses are no longer made. However, when produced they were sold only in high end stores and boutiques. They sold for a lot of money. This jeweled frame alone is worth the listed price of this wonderful treasure. Dimensions: w= 7"at bottom, 5" top h=5",d=1" CA:1980 Condition: Very Good vintage condition
