This vintage, genuine leather purse was handcrafted in Mexico in the 1950s. The hand tooled floral design on the front and back of the purse is exquisite. There are two interior compartments, one with an open slide pocket, the other with a zippered pocket. The interior is completely leather lined, and the zipper works well. The two fold over flaps on the front have brass tabs which turn to close the purse securely. There is a sturdy shoulder strap, which is double stitched. The original bright red color of the leather has darkened over the years, especially on the top flap, and the back side. It appears that a section of the seam on the left interior compartment had been repaired. The leather on the interior flap shows wear in the fold. Overall the purse is in good vintage condition, with scuffing to the side and bottom edges. There are remnants of a label on the zippered pocket. The artist tooled "Hecho En Mexico" into the upper right corner on the back of the purse.
