Circa 1934 French Chocolate Mold LeTang Fils Saxophone Player

This is a wonderful chocolate mold of a saxophone player as shown in the 1934 catalog of the French mold makers LeTang Fils. This is pre WW2. It depicts a young boy huddled over his saxophone blowing so hard his cheeks are all puffed out! Molds of children like this are rather rare.

Some wearing to the finish as is common in the older molds but still a lot of tin on the finish. The last photo shows the inside which is rather clean. As is non uncommon, it is a marriage as were so many but lines up just fine. After the chocolate was made the front and backs were tossed into different bins then one of each was picked up for the next round.

The signature has worn off but there is no doubt this is a LETANG FILS piece. It is mold #3889.

The mold itself stands 6" tall not including the flange. Comes with 2 clips.

Beautiful character and beautiful mold.
