Brass Dallah Coffee Pot Large Size Hand Made Saudi Arabic Persian
PRODUCT INFORMATION - This large Arabic Dallah coffee pot is estimated to have been hand-made in the mid-1800s to early 1900s of traditional solid brass. Region of Origin: Middle East. Dallah is a metal pot with a long spout designed specifically for brewing coffee. In the Gulf, Dallah is a symbol of welcome as coffee is always served to guests. The word Dallah is the diminutive name of Abdullah. Dallah translates into "coffee pot". The slender spout is believed to be inspired by the beak of a bird called Ibis. This piece has a base which shows signs of boiling over charcoal fires to keep the coffee brewing. Engraved on one side of the slender body are Arabic markings. An icon of the Middle East, the Dallah is traditionally used to brew Middle Eastern coffee, for Arabic, Turkish and Saudi roasts.
