The people in this book are a group of Scots in and around Gleneagles in thirty-six hours round midsummer 0f 1747.....Many of them, including a number of the Haldanes and Forbes of Culloden, are real people.......Among the groups dealt with are the weavers of Paisley and the Ayrshire miners, the 'unco guid', the lairds, the dispossessed clansmen, and the Indians of the Five Nations beyond the Hudson River. .....There are historical notes which should interest Marxist and other historians, farmers, Scottish Nationalists and those who see fairies.
Thus reads the note on the dustwrapper, and it is enough to intrigue a wide range of readers.
The book is shown clearly in the photos so please take a good look at them at full size.
Approximately 8" by 5.5 inches; 532pp including the notes; in very clean condition.
