13.5" All Original German Character Doll

This wonderful all original character doll was made in Germany during the Character Reform Movement circa 1910. She has a perfect bisque socket head incised 3, molded and painted features with large blue painted eyes and a fully closed pouty mouth.

She is on a fully jointed wood and composition body, it has some flaking and wear, we did not remove the original sewn on clothing.

She is wearing a Dutch-style costume with wonderful carved wooden shoes. Her original brown mohair wig is short and slight sparse.

This is a sweet unmarked character child made by a small German company possibly in Sonneberg. She resembles the dolls sold by Kammer & Reinhardt and Kley & Hahn.
