Vintage Large Rhinestone Bib Necklace Earrings Set Demi Parure

This union includes the necklace, adjustable to about 16 1/2 inches with hook style closure. The decorative center spans approximately 4 inches. Maximum width of the sides is about 1 1/8 inches. The pendant portion drops an additional 3 inches. The blue stones are huge at approximately 5/8 inch across. The white chaton rhinestones are about 5 millimeters. The earrings measure approximately 1 1/8 inches across with blue stones at 1/2 inch across. The set weighs in at about 78 grams. A very substantial and dramatic demi.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components intact. Please understand that this is a married set. The earrings do not match the necklace exactly. That said -- I do believe that a better match could not be found. The pronged blue stones in the necklace are closed back cup set, as well as all others. All clear stones remain very clean and brilliant. There are no cloudy, yellow, gray or dead stones. The dentelle faceted blue stones retain amazing sapphire color. (Think the blue stone in "Titanic".) Aquamarine blue dentelle faceted chaton also retain their color and fire. The necklace is finished in silvertone. All the plating remains intact. Hook closure show some handling / age wear, to be expected. The clip earrings' clear stones are equally brilliant and free from any clouds or discolor. The one difference in these dentelle faceted blue stones is that they are unfoiled and open back set. They have the same sapphire color as the necklace's blue stones but may appear a bit lighter due to the open back setting and / or lack or foil. When worn against the lobe the color matches the the blue in the necklace magnificently. The blue stones in the earrings also have a larger table that the necklace's blue stones Also note that the chaton rhinestones in the earrings are dentelle faceted while the clear stones in the necklace are traditionally faceted. The earrings are plated in rhodium while the necklace is in silvertone. Earring clips are strong and secure. All stones in both pieces present as new. While there are differences in the pieces I think you'll agree that they each complement the other beautifully. They are the perfect pair.
