1930s Vintage Art Deco Red Glass Cabochon Dress Clip

Totally Deco. Check out this substantial 1930s vintage headlight and oval red glass cabochon dress clip in beautifully finished pot metal. (There's pot metal and then there's pot metal -- this is the heavy, well finished variety with beading, diamond cut shield and faceted metal teardrop detailing.) It has an almost militaristic, ceremonial look and feel. High relief casting is well defined with that warm pewtery patina. The clip is set with the most incredible huge ruby red glass cabochons -- two headlight types and one oval. All stones are original to the piece with an outstanding uniform red glow. The red cabs with the pewtertone pot metal is knockout combo!

The clip measures a very generous approximate 2 7/8 inches x 2 1/8 inches with a 1/2 inch profile. Weight is a respectable 44 grams.

Condition is excellent vintage. All components original and intact. Pot Metal has superb patina. Red glass cabochons have spectacular color and glow with no chips, nicks, cracks, or breaks. No discoloration or flaking. Clip back is strong and secure. No damage / no repairs.

The clip has a utility patent number corresponding to the year 1931. Although these patent numbers were used over a period of years, I am confident that this clip's design, materials, and workmanship date it to the 1930s.
