Check out this refreshing departure from Boucher's more traditional work with a walk on the wilder side featuring gnarled tree branch work, complete with knots and bark. A botanical twist that's as fresh and fashionable as when created, circa 1961. This rare parure includes the link necklace, with it's extra extension link intact that allows it be worn in either an approximate 15 1/2 inches or 16 1/2 inches with foldover clasps on both lengths. Width is about 3/4 inch. The matching brooch measures in at about 1 3/4 inches x 1 5/8 inches with a 5/8 inch profile. Completing the parure is a pair of clip earrings at approximately 1 inch x 1 inch.
Condition is excellent / pristine vintage. All components original and intact. All silvertone finishes intact, front and back of all pieces. Necklace clasps, brooch pin back and earring clips strong and secure. No damage / no repairs.
Each piece is signed and / or numbered. One of the necklace's end links is signed "Boucher". The opposite end link is signed with the design or inventory number "8277N". The brooch back is signed "Boucher" and "8277P". One earring back is signed "Boucher", the other "8277E". It is interesting to note that on some Boucher sets the inventory numbers included the letters N for necklace, P for Pin and E for earrings. Finding a Boucher three piece set intact and in this top notch condition is rare.
A truly innovative parure designed some 50 years ago from one of the masters of costume jewelry creations -- Marcel Boucher. Very nice!
