Vintage 3Pc. Chase Company Bisque Wall Decor Occupied Japan

Featured is a delicate set of post WWII wall decor from the Chase Company. Bisque porcelain or "Biscuit" ware first gained notoriety in the 1800's for porcelain doll from China. However, Europe did eventually find a way to process this material for many more beautiful items than just the doll industry.

Each figurine is handpainted and has an individual in a colonial theme and setting. All three have vibrant greenery as they appear to be in a country setting as well. Additional colors are pastels with some brown hues for warmth. The centerpiece is young man sitting under a tree by a fence. He too is surrounded by lovely and lush greenery. This item is approximately 5" across and is round with scalloped edges. No crazing, chips and mild color loss for age.

The next two pictured are oval and approximately 7 1/2" long and 4 1/2" across. The dainty colonial lady has fine features is wearing a stunning dress with a light pastel green bodice and the bottom of dress is pink and blue with white ruffles. She is carrying a basket of pink roses and is posing on what looks like a large marble. There are no cracks, crazing, or chips. Only mild color loss.

The other oval features a Colonial Gentleman in a stately outfit including a 3 sided hat in his one hand and the other hand has a decorative walking stick. His colors are the same as the colonial lady and his features are equally fine. The only imperfection is one of his legs just above the ankle was lost.

Both ovals are stamped in red the "Chase Company" mark and reads Occupied Japan. This is a truly nice collection from a great period in time.

Please enjoy the pictures and as always we appreciate comments or questions. Thank you for visiting the site.
