This is a beautiful 1800s Victorian chased gold intaglio fob seal with a carved citrine stone depicting a profile of a lovely lady or maybe an Egyptian man or woman. It is not marked, which is common, but has been acid tested and the gold holding the stone tested at 12KT and the top part tested at 14KT. It likely came from England. I have added a 10KT marked chain. Total weight is 5.1 grams including the stone. I show the fob with a penny to give a perspective on size.
The craftsmanship is amazing! This is an intricate fob and will make an excellent addition to anyone's collection, or to wear as a piece of beautiful jewelry.
Size -- the fob is 3/4" long 1/2" wide 3/8" deep. The chain is 14" long.
Condition -- Excellent! This is a truly beautiful piece and the chase work and intaglio is exceptional. The person has a head dress which is clearly defined and even the ear is in the detail. As noted earlier this could be an Egyptian themed person or a lady.
