A delightfully small, approximately 4 1/2" unmarked Antique Teplitz bust of a lovely lady modeling her fancy bonnet with fluting, ruffling, cut out work, and much decorative frou frou, in jewel like colors of aubergine, cobalt and gold gilt. She makes a statement , no matter her size, and is perfect for a vignette, or among a collection of half dolls, as well. She is variously shown with a tiny antique portrait which is not part of the listing. Only the small porcelain Teplitz bust is for sale within this listing. Teplitz refers to art porcelain and pottery manufactured by a number of companies in Teplitz-Turn, an area of Bohemia during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Two of these companies were the Alexandra Works, founded by Ernst Wahliss, and The Amphora Porcelain Works, run by Reissner, Stellmacher, and Kessel. Amphora Porcelain Works used a variety of marks with the word Amphora or the initials RS&K. Unmarked is this delicate beauty, although there may be one small number or letter incised into the back base, or it may just be a manufacturing mark. She has what may be her original paper label glued to her back. She has no cracks, chips, damage or repairs or restorations. She is sure to shine in your collection.
Any other doll or accessory items used for display are not included in this offering, unless otherwise specified.
