Antique Hand Colored Fashion Magazine Illustration/Engraving 1833
From the Lady's fashion magazine 'Le Follett Courrier des Salons' it was published by J Page, 112 Fetter Lane, London, in 1833.
It features six delightful hand colored illustrations of pretty young ladies displaying bonnets, both from the front and back views. They are numbered 1, 2 and 3.
The sheet itself is numbered 256 and the description beneath reads 'Modes..ou s'abonne Magasin de Musique, Boulevart, des Italiens, passage de L'Opera No 2.
Beneath this there is a description in French of each of the wonderful hats and where it can be obtained.
A very pretty and unique engraving, measuring 6" x 9" and blank verso.
With some slight corner bends, 2 small tears in the left margin edge and age related foxing it is in good condition for being more than 170 years old!
Careful matting will cover the small tears and bends as the engraving is worth the time taken to frame it well.
