Vintage Bold Black and Red Hand Embroidered Haori c1970

The added hand embroidered design is of a flower in a bold and vibrant red silk thread. The flower resembles the floral emblem of my home state..New South Wales..the Warratah, and I prefer to think of the design in those terms, but it is most likely a stylized chrysanthemum.

The center of the flower is hand painted with silver high-lights as is the Family Crest.

The cream silk lining has a beautiful jacquard self pattern of swarming butterflies and is also in wonderful vintage condition with one faint watermark on the inner right front panel.

A vintage Haori is a very versatile item in your fashion wardrobe. They look stunning as short evening jackets and are just as useful over a pair of jeans for a more casual look.

Traditionally kimono have no label or sizing but the measurements are Entire width (sleeve-tip to sleeve-tip) 52", Body width 26" and Length 32 1/4".

The Haori has not been dry cleaned.
